Used for decades as a commercial fountain pump, the marine version of this pump is ideal for a wet bilge where moisture and explosive fumes may be a hazard - typically used as a continuous duty marine a/c pump. Always mount this pump with the volute pointing down or to the side as shown to lubricate and cool the shaft. If the discharge barb is positioned as shown, air is more easily purged.

Like all centrifugal pumps they are not self priming and must be mounted below the waterline. he manufacturer suggests using full flow hose barbs so as to not restrict the flow. If you wish to throttle down the flow, never restrict the suction side of a centrifugal pump - this may cause impeller damage. You may restrict the discharge side to reduce flow at will.
